Your mission as Design Team Lead:
In this role, you will lead and manage the design chapter (UX, UI, UX writer), who work in autonomous product teams (squads) owning and developing Sherpany’s platform. We are convinced that offering a wonderful user experience and design is crucial to achieving a competitive advantage. You'll help the team to build up a scalable design system that ensures a consistent quality of user experience, and consistent User Journeys across features, products, and platforms. You help us by driving the whole product team to understand our users and their problems and then designing solutions that drive users to improve the productivity of their meetings in an easy and intuitive way.
What we will love about you:
We’re looking for an empathetic Product Design Lead, not only to help us build and grow our product but also our design team.
You have a proven track record of designing successful products that users love. Nice to have: with experience in B2B and SaaS;
You’re experienced in managing and developing designers’ and researchers’ skills and careers;
You have previous experience in building design systems;
You have outstanding communication skills across all stakeholders and the ability to motivate and transmit vision;
Nice to have: You speak and understand German at a native or “expert” level.

Milestones After 30 days (observe and learn):
First interaction with all your direct reports;
Understand Sherpany as a product, the product team organization, how we work inside and with other departments;
Understand how the design team works;
Present your role to the team, what you understood from the handover and their expectations.
After 90 days (act and observe):
Take over UI/UX team and gain trust with the individuals and the team;
Understand Sherpany’s user and client base;
Understand what excellent meetings are;
Assess Sherpany’s design system and product from a UX/UI perspective;
Understand the product strategy and targets, contribute to product team OKRs and refine design team OKRs;
First interaction with all people across Sherpany you will work with.
After 180 days (change and learn):
UX/UI team happy with you as new team lead, needed team changes are addressed;
Successful launch of new solutions designed since you joined → improvement in UX metrics compared to past launches;
The product team knows and appreciates the work you do as Product Design Lead.
